Cindy's Big Day!

Finally!! After 3 long months!! =) But I will still write bout this cause its Cindy's big day and also my first time being MOH!!! (Maid of Honour la!! *if you don't know!*) hehe =P

The wedding actually have a theme and its "Falling in Love all over again..." and the theme colours are the colours of Fall (autumn) and hence its Brown, Cream and Gold! Cindy bought bridesmaid dress for the 3 bridesmaid (me, Shirley and See Wah).

I actually suggested this theme cause I read somewhere that a successful marriage requires falling in love many times, but always with the same person and I think that it is really true!!
Anyway, lets start off with the morning session....

Photo with Cindy after she put on make up and all

Some of the other ji muis plus our little page boy and baby Sebastian

Me, Regi and Shirley

All the ji muis!! Everyone is wearing brown!! =) NICE!! I like themed weddings!!

The commotion while waiting for the groom and his heng dais to arrive

Arrival of Way Loon and his best man and heng dais

We started our morning session games, for the groom and heng dais to show how much the groom wants to bring home the pretty bride! We had 5 games. The first game was actually using an abalone brush tied with a string, one of the heng dai is supposed to make the abalone brush go through one leg of his trousers and come out from the other leg!! The abalone brush is rough and poky and hence it should be funny to watch a grown man doing that but they cheated and did it on the poor page boy!! However, the boy was really sporting!! So ok lar we let them pass!!

The 2nd game, the guys are to be divided into two lines facing each other. First row, they will have to put a huge banana in between their legs and kneel down. While the other row of guys are to do push ups to eat the banana without their hands touching the bananas. This one was really fun and funny!! =D Stage 2 pass!!

Guys in two rows!! Just look at King and his "banana" sticking out!! MUAHAHAHA

All the guys on the other row eating the banana!! =D Really funny to watch them!!

The 3rd game. We filled four pails with ice. One of the bigger pails has about RM5 worth of 5 cent coins in it and they have to send 3 representatives. The 3 representative were to put their feet into the other three icy cold bucket until the groom is able to fish out all the 5 cent coins from the bigger icy cold basin. Seriously its not as easy as it sound cause it is freezing cold and their hands / feet will go numb!! But we should have put more water in the pail so that they can really submerge the whole feet!! Anyway it was still good and Stage 3 pass!!

Kim Weng rolled up his pants and ready to put his poor feet in!

As for the 4th game, we gave the guys some lipsticks and they have to put on the lipsticks and make a heart shape with their kiss mark on a mah jong paper. It was really funny seeing guys putting on lipsticks for themselves or for each other and also all pouting their lips!! =D So stage 4 pass as well!!

The final outcome of a heart shape kiss marks

The final game is for the groom and he has to sing a love song for the bride. This is an easy peasy task for Way Loon who is always the outspoken one. So stage 5 pass!! He can take the bride home!! haha

After the tea ceremony at Cindy's house where my task is to write down the names of those who gave them ang pows, we went over to Way Loon's house for another tea ceremony!!

The "US" gang!!

All the ji muis

After another round of make up, the bride and bridesmaid are all ready to go for the vow exchange ceremony. Due to the drizzling rain, the ceremony was moved from the garden to the porch area.

No lar actually Cindy threw it three times and also no one wanna catch it!! Sigh....

Sigh again i think the photos would have been so much nicer if the guys followed the theme colour!! Cause we look so nice with our bridesmaid dress and bright orangey flowers!! haha

After that, we went back to get ready for the dinner reception!

The deco for the dinner ballroom =) Nice eh!!

See our matchy matchy dress... haha our dress has got a similar design at the back!!

The page boy was so naughty!! He didn't wanna let the girl hold his hand!! haha

Us getting ready for the march in

The page boy and flower girl first walk in and followed by the MOH and Bestman. Then the bride with her father. The groom is at the other end dedicating a love song for his beloved bride. The bride's father then hand the bride over to the groom while the groom continues singing..... until they reach their seat.

Opening the champange and toasting to everyone who is present that night

Me giving my MOH speech!! haha

Anyway here's the full speech that I prepare! I actually skipped some parts of it as I felt it was a bit too long. Its nothing fancy but just what I sincerely felt and wanted to say.....

Good evening everyone, I will make my speech short and sweet, just like our bride and groom today! =D

For those who may not know me, I am Tracia, Cindy’s Maid of Honour. Usually, Maid of Honours is either the bride’s sister, childhood friend or room mates in college or university. However, I am none of the above! I only know Cindy for slightly more than 3 years! We met each other when we were committee members for the Sunway Group Sports Club. From then on, we click off instantly and became good friends.

It’s hard not to like someone like Cindy! She is always very helpful, never say no whenever you needed her help. I probably haven’t told her before, how much I admire her totally selfless behaviours, her kindness, generosity and her compassion for others. Besides that, she is also very easy going, down to earth, and always fun to be around! Not to mention very very talkative too once you get to know her!

A year later, I joined Sunway Medical and we also became colleagues. Always having lunch together, joining the gym together, going for events and holidays together, our bond just gets closer! There were quite times and there were wild times. There were time for seriousness and time for silliness.

I can still remember around the same time last year, it was her cousin, Tracy’s wedding but Cindy was so happy that she got all drunk the night before the wedding! I told her that the bride should get drunk and not her! She should wait for her turn! And before I know it, it’s her turn today!!

The one thing that I will never forget is that when she was soooo drunk, we tucked her in bed but she can still make a fuss and insist to brush her teeth, wash her face and then even put on toner and moisturiser before she goes back to bed!! Can you believe it? Isn’t she a hygienic drunkard?? HAHA

On a serious note, Cindy, I would like to say that I am honoured to be your maid of honour and that I am still amazed at how perfect you and Luke are together not just in terms of height *ahem* but both your personalities completely complement each other.

With every ending there is a beginning. While the end of your singles days may certainly have changed the nature and the frequency of what we do together, it has not changed the nature of our friendship. I look forward to all the new experiences we will share in the future as you begin your journey of married life. I am blessed to have you as my friend and I sincerely wish you all the happiness that you deserve!

I read somewhere that a successful marriage requires falling in love many times, but always with the same person and hence our theme for tonight, “Falling In Love, All Over Again”

Now it gives me immense pleasure to invite all of you to raise your glass in a toast to Cindy and Luke.

May you both continue to keep falling in love (with each other of course!) May the love you share today be one day seen as small, compared to the love you will feel ten years from now, or fifty years from now. May the same love and caring, warmth and sharing that has touched your lives from the start, always make your home happy, your life complete, and be the guiding light in your hearts. To health, happiness and to falling in love all over again! To a great friend anyone could ask for, Cheers!"

As maid of honour, I still have one further privilege and that is to give a piece of advice to the groom: Luke, when you've already won Cindy’s heart, you don't need to win every argument ok?

Congratulations to Cindy and Luke, on a wonderful future together!

Thank you!

Me kissing the bride =)

Me & Shirley

Toasting at our table!! OMG I shout until like that!! So un-ladylike! Haha

After everyone left, we still stayed on at the ballroom until about 1am where we continue to drink among ourselves!!

Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!! This Cindy has this wierd habit of crying everytine she is drunk!!! She just couldn't stop crying and did so many funny and embarassing things!! haha but I shall not reveal it here lar.....

The guys who are equally or even more drunk!!

CONGRATULATIONS ON A WONDERFUL FUTURE TOGETHER
