Australia Day 2: Sydney's Attractions

Today we went to Circular Quay again but this time is to take the Ferry ride to Manly Beach. Since the weather was really good, we left earlier so that we have time to take some clear and bright photos of Harbour Bridge and Opera House!!

Harbour Bridge =D

Opera House =D

Sydney CBD

After we are satisfied posing here and there with both Harbour Bridge and Opera House, we took the Ferry to Manly Beach, one of Sydney's famous beach.

Photos while on the ferry ride

After arriving at Manly, mimi wanted to eat Fish & Chips and hence we stopped at one of the Fish & Chips Take away shop. I must say, the fish & chips is really different from what we have here.... it’s much much nicer!! I think it’s the type of fish the use.....

Yummy Yummy Fish & Chips - mimi's fav! Even in London, when her friend wants to bring her out and ask her what she wants to eat, she will ask for fish & chips!! *haha*

After filling up our tummy, we walked towards the Manly Beach and its such a beautiful beach with really high waves!! Too bad it’s not summer (yet) and hence we didn't jump into the beautiful blue sea.

We have to braved the cold breeze to take this photo!!

There is also a flea market near the beach. We walked around and shopped a bit.... ( I didn't buy anything though but my sis did! *ish* Everything in Australia is soooo exp!! )

Then we passed by the much hyped about Max Brenner and tried their hot chocolates....

After that we took the ferry back to Circular Quay and then took another ferry to Darling Harbour. Circular Quay is the hub of everything!! Everyday that we were in Sydney, we were in Circular Quay at least once!!

On the ferry to Darling Harbour

Arriving at Darling Harbour....

We then went to Sydney Fish Market for lunch!! My friend told me that the lobsters there are really cheap!! I was really looking forward to it! Was so excited when we were there and then we saw people holding plates and plates of seafood platters with cheese baked lobster, fried calamari, prawns, rock oysters, sashimis and etc......

HOWEVER,

I don't know which idiot go and tell my dad about a chinese restaurant at the top floor of the market and he just walked directly up to the restaurant without waiting for us and without asking us if we wanted chinese!!!!!!!!! Before we know it, we were all sitting on the table in the chinese restaurant!!!!! I was sooooooo GERAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't go to Australia to eat chinese food la!!!!!!!!!!! ish ish ish!!!!! =((((((((((((((((((((((

Outside the Sydney Fish Market

Fresh Lobster and Abalone inside the Chinese Restaurant!!

Not that I am complaining to eat lobster and abalone but we can eat this some other time!! Just not at the Fish Market where we can try those seafood platter (non-chinese style!!). *sigh* Anyway this is what we had in the Chinese Restaurant instead.......

Lobster Sashimi

The other parts of the lobster is cooked

Steamed Fresh Abalone

Fresh Sliced Abalone that you can eat raw

or cooked in a hot pot

Diced Beef with wasabi sauce

Sigh.... its yummy.... but but but.... got cheap lobster at AUD25 downstairs don't want, but go up and eat this lobster that cost AUD212!! And the abalone cost another AUD204!! *crazy!!*

Anyway, these are what we have missed out downstairs......

Only can see but cannot taste..... my bro saw the cheese baked lobster, saliva also dripping!! *hehe*

Luckily still get to taste the huge strawberry!! =D Sooo sweet and juicy!! YUMZ!!

After lunch, we walked back to Darling Harbour to stroll araound.... There is actually a lot to do at Darling Harbour! They have a Wildlife Park, Aquarium, IMax Theatre, Maritime Museum, Chinese Garden, shopping and etc.....

Darling Harbour

However, we didn't spend much time at Darling Harbour as we wanted to go to Paddy's Market and Market City for some shopping. Since most of the shops closes at about 5pm and some at 7pm!!

Sydney Tower

Queen Victoria Building

Market City is supposed to have some factory outlets that includes Esprit!! (That's why I wanted to go so much) However, much to my disappointment, the stuff there isn’t that great and not cheap as well!! =((((((((((( So didn't buy anything..... sighhhhh...... should have spent more time at Darling Harbour!! *hehe*

After that we went to chinatown which is close by for dinner.... We had chinese AGAIN!! =(
